Cape Dappers

I know many of you car fanatics have heard about or even seen the Cape Dappers logo on some slammed rides here in Cape Town. I was always curious about the name and wondered who is behind the Cape Dappers Franchise.

I got into contact with Haashim Samodien (26) from Surrey Estate who is the owner and founder of Cape Dappers which was established in February 2015. Cape Dappers has a wide range of services namely:

- Custom Boot Displays
- Upgrades and Modifications on Air Rides
- Custom Drift Trikes
- Karakas
- Scooters
- Go Kart Modifications
- Metal Work and Machining
- Pipe Bending and Moulding
- Air Suspension full builds
- Testing and Fault Finding
- Call out service for Repairs
- Fully Functional Hardline Displays

The name Cape Dappers represents his origin (Cape) and the neat and clean, efficient (Dapper) work he strives to produce. The work he does is engineering based on a large scale however it is dependent on what is requested of him. Haashim does all the work himself from his home in Surrey Estate and offers a call out service for repairs.

Even I, and I'm sure many of you assumed that Cape Dappers was a car club or crew. In actual fact they are just a group of close friends who have had their cars done by Haashim and carry the Cape Dappers name and crown. The guys do make plans to hang out and catch up but they do not have the formalities and fixed rules that most car clubs and crews have. They usually attend car events of each person's preference and Haashim says that each car owner reserves the right to their own car and decisions they make, so they usually mention events amongst one another and discuss who is available or who would like to attend.

Cape Dappers website is currently under construction, however he does have a Facebook Page where he will keep you updated on all his work and where you can find his details. Cape Dappers also has an Instagram profile where he uploads production images of the work he does. So get following and keep updated on his amazing work and the progress of Cape Dappers.
