National Woman's Day - 9 August 2018
9 August 2018 Many people today confuse the term women's rights with National Women’s Day. Women’s rights are something that every woman should be aware of and these rights should be equally enshrined to that of men as well. Woman’s and men’s rights are and should be the same, obviously applicable to the relevant gender. For example, women should be allowed to have high-quality health care which lessens the risk of death during pregnancy or during childbirth. These are part of the rights that are vital for women’s equality. Every woman has the right to live equally and freely from discrimination, no matter her sexuality or identity. Nonetheless, today is National Women’s day, a day we celebrate in commemoration of the stand women took against the continued exploitation they faced.
